OVERVIEW
Double-wattled cassowary (Casuarius casuarius) also known as the southern cassowary, is a large flightless black bird. It is a ratite and therefore related to the emu, ostrich, and the genus Rhea. Regional distributions of the three species are in tropical forests and mountains on the island of New Guinea.
